Back to Waiau Free Community Event The Waiau Citizens Assoc Inc. a non-profit Community Organisation based in Waiau North Canterbury is hosting a free Community event in October 2010 over the Labour long weekend.


Friday 22nd - the Meet & Greet and Official Launch of the Weekend to be held at the Waiau Lodge Hotel. (it celebrates 100yrs)


Saturday 23rd - Markets on the Village Green, Open Day at Historic Museum & historic Churches, Sheep Shearing demo at historic Woolshed, horse & carriage township tour, vintage car & machinery display, Lodge to Lodge Half Marathon & BNZ 10km walk/run, Grand Parade to finish the day. In the evening a Dance at the Community Hall.


Sunday 24th - Ecumenical Church Service on the Village Green, Annual Waiau Pig Hunt, Old Fashioned Family Picnic & Cricket Match
